Cityside Skatepark
|
* Outdoor: Wood [yes, outdoor]
* Pay: $10-$12 per sesh
* Trannie / Street
* Rating: "I've seen better"
"There is a skatepark in Providence RI called 'CitySide.' Yeah, its okay, I've seen better, but mention it anyway!!!"
- NoMotivation: Dec '01
NOTICE: This park is NOT indoors anymore - as of summer 2003, its outdoors at the "Fleet Skating Center" [401.331.5544]. We're pretty sure its only open during the summers.
We know this RI dude named Nick Lord. He rode this park the first summer it was open [2001] and he wasn't that into it. He was like, "you hit everything a couple times and you're pretty much over it." That's one way to say "its not very creative or interesting." Most RI riders remain dedicated to Skater Island - and who isn't, that place rocks! Oh, and for the record, the "CitySide" name is a bite on the ever-classic Burnside in Portland OR.
Directions: Once you're in Providence, you'll exit Memorial Blvd [near Providence Place] and head east. Memorial will bend right [south], you'll cross Washington and Steeple, then you'll see Kennedy plaza to your right [west]. Because of the seasonal hours, etc., we strongly recommend you call first: 401.331.5544.

^ So, these pics are from 2001,
when CitySide was indoors...
this park is now outdoors [summers only]
at the Fleet Skating Center in Providence.
|
 |
^ The features were once high-quality,
"wood-like" forms, but they may have
gotten beat down over the years since
these shots were taken.
|
 |
^ We took this shot off the back
of Jeremy Holcomb, local skater dude.
