The Department
|
* Indoor: Wood / Concrete
* Pay: $10 [3 hour sesh]
* Trannie / Street
* Rating: Portland Woodie
"The Department of Skateboarding was started by the people who own/operate 'Cal's Pharmacy' [a Portland skate shop]. It was created to fill the need for an indoor park in this rainy city."
"Our park is very street oriented in design. Obstacles are realistic, things you might find to skate in reality [banks, rails, stairs, ledges, gaps, etc.]. We also have one of the best wooden kidney bowls around."
"We've only been open a couple of months... Matt Beach and Jayme Fortune - a couple of local pros who skate the park whenever they can - came out and skated at the grand opening on April 6th, 2002."
- Dan [of the DEPT]: Apr '02
