3rd Lair
|
* Indoor: Masonite / Concrete
* Pay: $12 per session [$22 for bmx]
* Vert / Trannie / Street
* Rating: The Lair w/ the flair
First take a quick look at SkateStreet... Cleaner than a preacher's mouth, right? Compare that to the pics below of 3rd Lair...
All due respect to SkateStreet's "G Rated" feel, but 3rd lair *looks* like a skatepark. We like spray paint on the walls. We like randomly patched ramps. Sometimes a thick layer of dust and grime all over everything is a good thing! It's that do-it-yourself feel without all the work... classic! Not only does this park look like a midwestern version of Skater's Island, but it looks like "home" for anyone w/ an old school, backyard sense of appreciation.
Once again, this review was user-submitted by a local named David. In addition to this fine collection of pics, he had the following to say:
"It's indoor (in a warehouse). It's the perfect way to escape the harsh winter, or to escape the blistering heat. If you're not a member you have to bring 10 bucks, and a helmet. It's a nice park. They have a nice bowl, a halfpipe, and mini ramp and street course. Check it out."
Directions: In Minneapolis take Interstate 94 to the Park Avenue, and head south, turn left on Lake Street (east). Make another right on 12th Avenue; the park is right on the southwest corner. The address is 1207 East Lake Street. For more info call the park direct at: 612.724.4546
