Much thanks - as we begin this little review of Paradise Funplex - out to Jr. Thomas for hooking me up with access to the pics, etc.
I could go into a lot of detail about this park - including the monster 13 ft vert ramp, the 8 ft mini ramp, the rails, "grommit land", the lights, etc. - or I could just tell you that the park is 1.) Built by Team Pain [407.695.8215], and 2.) At 18,000 sq. ft, it's big enough to have something for everyone. Either way you should know that this park is big time and ready to rumble when you are.
Paradise Funplex is actually one of those "family centers" and has some other stuff besides skate ramps. Bikers will be stoked to know that the park is bike friendly, and has a "rhythm section" to ride in addition to the main course [call for bike hours - phone number is below]. They've also got batting cages and mini-golf in case sweating, sliding, and slamming isn't your idea of a good time.
Directions: Paradise Funplex is located on Merrit Island - 40 miles east of Orlando. Directions are as follows: "From Orlando, take the State Road 528 [Beeline Expressway] east to Interstate-95 south. From I-95, exit on State Road 520 east. Proceed through the town of Cocoa, over the first large Bridge into Merritt Island. The park is located directly behind the Merritt Square Mall, at 555 Fortenberry Road." For more information, call the park direct at 321.454.7777.
