Greenfield Skatepark
|
* Outdoor: 'Crete
* Free
* Trannie / Street
* Rating: Grind field
Ah dude, Greenfield skatepark is the SHIT! We first heard about it from "Santa Barbara" Joe - he had that "I just found a $100 bill" look in his eyes, so we knew it would be sweet.
It's another Wormhoudt [831.426.8424] park... and I gotta say, the bowls they've been putting out are such a blessing for CA skaters. It was in this park that we first heard of Ben Lomond's bowl, also a Wormhoudt park. Redwood City has a killer bowl. And Sunnyvale, well, get off you butt and ride that one yourself - bad ass!
In addition to coping that grinds like it's made of ice, and uncrowded sessions every time I've been there, the town of Greenfield is a great place to pull off the 101. Just a little latin chill town - clean, friendly - and the weather is nice and cool thanks to the ocean breeze that slips over the hills to keep the air fresh for skaters. She's a beauty - come get some!!!
Directions: Greenfield is just north of King City, about 50 miles south of Salinas. Take the 101 south from Salinas, and exit Oak - heading west. You'll cross a little "downtown" area at El Camino Real, and continue on Oak for about 1 mile past 12th Street. You'll pass a school on your left, before you hit Patriot Park. The skatepark is in that park.

^ There's also a "street" area, centered
on a mini ramp style flow over some fun boxes.
Again, coping grinds FOREVER... nice warm up
for the bigger bowl.
